to foster professionalism, ethics and transparency
in our local government. In her role with the City
of Atlanta, she provides advice, training, and public
education. She is committed to ensuring the integrity
and accountability for the City and its representatives.
The Rita A. Sheffey Public Interest Award was pre-
sented to Kimberly D. Charles. As managing attor-
ney for Atlanta Legal Aid, chair of the Atlanta Bar
Association’s Women in the Profession section, and
past chair of the Continuing Legal Education Board
of Trustees, Kimberly exemplifies the dedication to
public interest and leadership within the Bar that are
the hallmarks of this award.
The luncheon concluded with a powerful and inspi-
rational keynote speech by Audra Dial. Audra is the
managing partner for Kilpatrick Townsend’s Atlanta
office and has received numerous accolades for her
leadership and community service. She chairs fun-
draisers, serves on many non-profit boards, and is a
Past President of the Junior League of Atlanta. Yet,
she still finds time for a personal life that is as robust
and impressive as her professional one. She is an
amazing mom to a young son, a supportive wife, and
a warmhearted friend. But in the end, she reminded
us that she too only has 24 hours in her day. She left
us energized and encouraged, wondering: “what can
we accomplish in our 24 hours?”
History has its eyes on us.
Do good.
