MBLC Seth Kirschenbaum Diversity Award

The Atlanta Bar Association Summer Law Internship Pro-
gram (SLIP) was awarded the Seth D. Kirshenbaum Diversity
Award by the Multi Bar Leadership Council at a reception
on October 12, 2017 held at the State Bar of Georgia. The
annual award recognizes any member in good standing
with the State Bar of Georgia, a law firm’s corporate law
department or law-related organization that embodies
the MBLC mission of fostering meaningful and positive
interaction among diverse members of the Bar through its
leadership in programs and efforts that support diversity
and inclusion. This is the first time the award has been given
to an organization.
SLIP co-chair S. Wade Malone
accepted the award on behalf of
the program and the program’s
co-chairs Natasha Perdew Silas
and Nekia Hackworth Jones.
Two former SLIP interns, Kier
Prince (Emory University
School of Law, Class of 2018)
and Darrius Woods (Vanderbilt
University School of Law, Class
of 2017) spoke about their par-
ticipation in the program. In
his remarks, Woods shared that
“SLIP not only afforded me with
the opportunity to work in a professional environment but
also introduced me to a network of attorneys dedicated to
promoting diversity in the legal profession here in Atlanta.”
