section update ACYL Service Opportunities By Jonathan E. Smith Scoggins & Goodman, P.C. W e are excited to have kicked off our signature fundraiser, The Associates Campaign for Legal Services, with a happy hour at Ri Ra at the end of July. We had a great turnout and have high expectations to really come through for legal service organizations with increased associate participation and matching donations from their respective law firms. The Campaign will continue through October 31, 2012. Thanks in large part to our firm campaign coordinators (listed below), we have already received commitments from multiple law firms to match the funds raised by their respective associates. Please take a minute to recognize the associate(s) in your firm for their service and ask how you can donate/contribute. If you do not see your firm listed below, please contact Jonathan Smith of Scoggins & Goodman at ([email protected]) or Rick Bold David Rubenstein 24 THE ATLANTA LAWYER October 2012 s [email protected] of Bondurant Mixson & Elmore at ([email protected]) for more information. Further information can also be found by clicking the “Associates Campaign” button on the Atlanta Bar Association home page. We will continue to publish articles and provide periodic updates regarding our top associate contributors, participants and matching firms. In addition to The Associates Campaign, the ACYL has supported the following events and programs over the past few months: ● Georgia Justice Project Back 2 School Festival (several ACYL members volunteered as waiters serving food to the Georgia Justice Project families); LawJam 2012 and pre-show happy hour at Front Page News; ● ServiceJuris; ● Minority & Diversity Clerkship Scholarship Sponsor; CLE for a Cause (organized CLE programs in connection with our Associates Campaign beneficiaries).
