Kristi Gibbs is a 2L Student who spent her first year driving up I-75 after her law classes to Chattanooga to instruct courses of her own . Mrs . Gibbs said she always planned to practice law , but losing her brother during her undergraduate studies changed the trajectory of her career . In her opinion , the decision to become a licensed professional counselor and counselor educator was likely for the better , “ I loved the twenty years I spent in the mental health arena and that part of

D ., even though I do not plan to practice law , will help my professional career as an engineer .” my journey was necessary for me to be successful now .” She is an active volunteer with the Atlanta Legal Aid Society , and she is currently pursuing a health law certificate and is considering a summer internship practicing family law .
Courtney Anderson Anderson is an Associate Professor of Law and Social Welfare and Property at the Georgia State College of Law . Her research is focused on preserving affordable housing and eradicating the disparities in low-income and minority communities that exacerbate health issues and supports the university ’ s Second Century Initiative , which focuses on interdisciplinary research into how law and policy might impact the social , economic , and environmental determinants of health . She received her J . D . from Harvard Law School and her L . L . M . with distinction from the Georgetown University Law Center . She was a clinical fellow with the Harrison Institute for Affordable Housing and Community Development Clinic at Georgetown , where she represented low-income tenant associations in purchasing and rehabilitating multi-
