ogy is sound, it may be challenging to
convince users in your office that their
virtualized desktops are an acceptable
alternative to their usual and comfort-
able desktop environment.
There really are three main themes
of cloud computing: the SAAS model,
publishing traditional applications
from the virtual server world to the
traditional desktop or maintaining a
virtual environment that you host lo-
cally or in a data warehouse for some
or all users in your firm.
Any way you slice and dice it, one
thing is perfectly clear now: despite
the name cloud which is a murky, wet,
cold and damp atmospheric phenom-
enon, nothing is really happening in the
clouds. The power of the cloud is the
power of your internet bandwidth, the
reliability of your service provider, the
benefit of the environment as well as
the justification of cost.
