Erik J. Provitt Receives
Outstanding Graduate
Award From John
Marshall Law School
On May 20, 2017, at the Cobb Energy
Center, Erik J. Provitt received the
Berman Fink Van Horn
has achieved “Partner in
Prevention” status
John Marshall Law School Outstanding
Graduate Award during its 2017 Com-
mencement Ceremony. This award
is given annually to one graduate in
each of the school’s divisions (part-time
and full-time) who best demonstrates
standards of competence and profes-
sionalism, a strong social conscience,
high ethical standards, and a commit-
ment to the improvement of the le-
gal system and society, as determined by the Faculty on recommendation
of the Honors and Awards Commit-
tee. Mr. Provitt was John Marshall Law
School’s student liaison to the Board
of the Atlanta Lawyer for each of his
three years of law school. He received
his Juris Doctor in December of 2016,
sat for the February Bar Exam, and is
now licensed to practice law in the State
of Georgia.
Berman Fink Van Horn has achieved
“Partner in Prevention” status, a desig-
nation awarded by the nonprofit Dark-
ness to Light to organizations which
take extra steps to protect children by training staff to understand the issue of
child sexual abuse, identify unsafe situ-
ations and practices and react respon-
sibly in the best interest of children.
Atlanta Bar Association
Wins the Award of Merit
Jim Blitch of the Atlanta Bar Associa-
tion accepts the Award of Merit from
Outgoing State Bar President Patrick
T. "Pat" O'Connor.
Awards of Merit are given to voluntary
bar associations for their dedication
to improving relations among local
lawyers and devoting endless hours to
serving their communities. The bar as-
sociations are judged according to size.
