What is the CLE Board of
Trustees?
The CLE Board of Trustees is a
diverse team of thirteen members
of the Atlanta Bar Association
who oversee CLE program
development and direction. The
Board is tasked with ensuring
the Atlanta Bar and its Sections
provide meaningful, relevant
and high-quality continuing
education opportunities to the
legal community. We are here for
you!
What are your plans for the
CLE Board of Trustees for
2019-2020?
The CLE Board of Trustees
established long-term goals for
the 2019-2020 year in an effort
to ensure continuity and access
to quality program development,
with some programs gaining
more and more traction from
the previous fiscal year. One
previous program that was
created, with the support of the
Atlanta Bar Association, was the
Speaker Database. Individuals
who were interested in presenting
at a CLE event have always been
able to reach out to the CLE
Board of Trustees and request
consideration. However, the

credits. We are also video tapping
CLEs going forward and adding
those videos to the library.
Another goal is a communications
plan for Section liaison activity.
Since the success of the CLE
Board of Trustees is inherently
tied to attendance at CLE events,
we developed a plan and issue
communications to the Section
Chairs. The goal is to identify
ways in which the Board may be
of service to each Section and to
make them aware of upcoming
events they may share with their
members. We also set a goal for the
Board to attend Section events on
a quarterly basis,

year to year. As new members
served on the Board, we noticed
gaps in process awareness and
historical information. We spent
a few meetings saying, “Didn’t we
have a guy who wanted to speak
on that?” and decided there was
a better way – thus our desire to
create a Speaker Database was
born.
