presumed original authenticity, but to redefine the relationship between architecture, domestic space, and landscape through a comprehensive process of rewriting the building organism.
The intervention updates the villa to the needs of contemporary living, introducing new functional devices such as a lift, and reorganizing internal pathways and connections according to principles of accessibility, continuity, and comfort. Every design decision is oriented toward the construction of a coherent system in which architecture and interior design contribute to the definition of a single spatial experience.
The architectural consultancy involved the study of façade composition, the redefinition of existing volumes and architectural elements, the design of external finishes, windows and access spaces, as well as the harmonious integration of new technologies and building systems. Particular attention was given to the recovery of the building’ s proportions and the enhancement of its distinctive features, such as the cylindrical corner volume and the central portico, reinterpreted through a contemporary language inspired by Mediterranean Rationalist architecture.
Continuity and fluidity are the founding concepts of the project, which focuses primarily on the construction of a new compositional order. Volumes, openings, proportions, and circulation routes have been rethought as parts of a unified system capable of overcoming the fragmentation typical of many contemporary residential architectures. The house is not conceived as a sequence of autonomous episodes, but as a continuous spatial structure in which every element contributes to the definition of the whole.
A delicate harmony softens the strong character of certain material and architectural elements. Curves and softened edges introduce a gentler perception of space, suggesting dynamic movement and naturally guiding both gaze and body through the interiors. Fluidity thus becomes not only a compositional principle, but also an experiential quality.
In this process, the relationship between interior and exterior plays a central role. Open spaces are not merely a functional extension of the building, but actively participate in the construction of architectural form. Paved surfaces, green areas, pathways, and reflecting pools define a series of relationships that extend the project beyond its built perimeter.
The swimming pool, in particular, is not interpreted as a decorative element but as a device for measuring space. Its presence establishes visual relationships, reflections, and alignments that strengthen the overall perception of the architecture.
The interiors are also approached according to an architectural rather than decorative logic. Materials and finishes are not applied as surface claddings, but as tools for constructing space.
From this perspective, numerous bespoke furniture elements were designed, from the dining room table to the walk-in wardrobe, from the boiserie details to kitchen and bathroom furniture, all developed specifically to integrate
