RIGHT HAND NOTATION Right hand fingers’ notation is p,i,m,a and e for thumb, index, medium, ring finger and small finger correspondingly. The symbol Λ represents a downstroke with the fingers noted on it.When no finger is noted i is used. The nails are striking the strings with their outer surface. The stroke direction is from basses to trembles. If more than one fingers are noted on it one above the other their stroke is simultaneous and not dinstict. The reverse symbol V is an upstrokewith the fingers noted on it.When no finger is noted i is used. The nails are striking the strings with their inner surface. The stroke direction is from trembles to basses. Being one of the typical techniquers of flamenco guitar, the continuous and dinstinct movement deriving from various stroke combinations is called rasgueado. The symbol R represents the continuous and dinstinct downstroke of the fingers e,a,m,i in the order they are mentioned. Λ e Λ a Λ m Ommitting the last downstroke results in another rasgueado form which is noted representing thus Λ i R the e,a,m continuous and dinstinct downstroke in the order they are mentioned.Usually the ommitted i downstroke is following on the next musical value but the use of a different symbol results in a better agreement of rasgueado notation with respect to the exact musical values. 44
