Another important aspect is the colour palette; again, Mother Nature is queen. Browns, creams and greens, all colours seen in the wild, dominate. As you walk into the space, you cannot help but stop and take a breath and‘ slow down’. There are little pockets of peace too, such as this reading nook pictured. Designed to be areas of minimal clutter that prioritise relaxation above all else.
The other design element, which we love, having come from an antiques background, back in 1975. We encourage the use of mixing heirloom or nostalgic pieces. Vintage books or passed down antiques would just add to the layering and warmth of this space.
Timelessness is something to be admired and encouraged in a world of consumption and fastpaced chaos. Collecting, keeping, and repurposing are all what we like to hear. New should be mixed with old. But you should also love the‘ new’ so much you want to keep it and restyle it or pass it on for decades to come. These are the intentional design pieces we hope to create for spaces like this. So that when you leave, you feel better than when you arrived. That is if you ever choose to leave this slow-paced space!
