SLOW LIVING
The phrase‘ the art of slow living’ is all over the interiors world at the moment; to be honest, we are not complaining. Being told to slow down is music to our ears and is exactly what we endeavoured to create in our Chelsea trade space.
With this more intentional design, the aim is to retreat from the chaos of daily life and create more peaceful spaces. Veering away from the‘ design over comfort’ plague of the last decade or so, we are moving towards a beautiful yet comfortable style, reflecting the decisions we are taking in other aspects of our day-to-day life. From what we are choosing to wear, to where we go on holiday, there has been a shift to prioritising relaxation and wellness, so why not start in the home?
In our Chelsea showroom, we already have a great canvas, a Tedd Todd oak floor which leans toward this aesthetic. Of course, one of the main elements for slow living is natural materials. So, layering this with Belgian linen sofas and natural wood furniture is always a nice starting point. Then other textural elements, like rattan and leather help to add more depth.
