Centreboard Centreboard News News By virtue of her results, Bella has been selected into the Australian Optimist Sailing Team (a mix of the top boys and girls in the country) selection into the AOST qualifies Bella to represent Australia, at the Asian/Oceanian Championships at the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club in October 2017. Representative spots on the Australian team are hotly contested by all Optimist sailors Australia wide, and Bella is rightly proud of her achievement, in gaining this selection. Bella would generally be considered to be the 2 nd ranked girl in NSW in Optimists, and is very rarely outside of the top 10 in mixed fleet racing at state events. She has additionally been selected into the NSW Youth Development Squad. We couldn't be more proud of her achievements as an individual, and have the club and her coaches to thank for successful and confidant disposition , and mature approach to the rigours of travel, competition and the extended periods spent away from her family in order to compete. David Green Centreboard 2017/2018 Season Spring Centreboard Season The season calendar is currently being drafted with the first race of the Centreboard Series scheduled for Sunday 3 September, 1300hrs. Racing is open to all ages. Two Twilight Sailing events will be conducted where CB families are invited to participate on fellow members boats in the Thursday Twilight Series:  Thursday 16 November 2017  Thursday 15 February 2018 Details of the season program, entry, race documents and more can be viewed on the newly formatted Centreboard page: http://www.rpayc.com.au/centreboard-racing Volunteers are Needed Volunteers are essential to running a successful season program, all competitors and or parents will be required to assist throughout the season. To learn more about what tasks are required each week either speak to Chris Attwood on the CB Lawn or sign up to Dutyman Roster system.  Race Officer  Scribes  Flags  Sound Signals  Mark Boats  Registration  Ramp control  General Hands There is a Club Race Official Course scheduled at RMYC on the 23rd September, this is a great course to learn the ropes prior to setting on board a committee vessel or support boat.
