Commodore

It is now over two years since the Covid pandemic reached our shores and whilst management and staff have done a sterling job to ensure our club is financially sound and in good order , the level of contribution by our club volunteers during these challenging times needs to be recognised .
“ To the many who volunteer , and their partners and family who support them , I thank you on behalf of your fellow members for helping make the club the success it is .”
Volunteers participate in every aspect of our club structure and without the generosity of their time and dedication , it would be difficult for us to remain in operation . To the many who volunteer , and their partners and family who support them , I thank you on behalf of your fellow members for helping make the club the success it is .
We have had a strong year financially , with an End of Year surplus of $ 358,822.00 . All divisions have performed well , especially considering the disruptions from Covid and recently the constant rain which hampered our Boatyard operations .
The club purchased the neighbouring property at 12 Mitala Street in October . Adjoining the club to the north , the property lengthens our Pittwater frontage to preserve access for launching and recovering of our ‘ off the beach fleets ’. It complements our Green Point footprint and provides additional future development flexibility . A key objective of the Board is to future proof members ’ interests as best as possible , and we feel this property contributes to that objective and , in time , it will be a welcome addition to our sailing activities .
Covid again caused the Sydney to Auckland race to be abandoned , but with such strong interest from our shores and over the ditch , we will be looking to include the race in our calendar next season .
Super Maxi , Black Jack , owned by Peter Harburg , took line honours in the 2022 Pittwater to Coffs Harbour Race setting a new record of 17 hours
