SWEET APRIL
THIRTY-FIRST EDITION
APRIL 2014

Look, I’m not gonna argue about this. April is the
best month of the year – done. Selfishly I have a
birthday coming up, and better yet, winter is finally
starting to reveal itself… Slowly, Autumn-leaf-byAutumn-leaf, but surely! Every morning I make
my way to the office through the main avenue on
Lourensford Estate, lined with Acorn Tree after
imperious Acorn Tree, and I get to witness this
leisurely, yet resolute progression. An observer
by chance, I find myself charmed by the Autumn
foliage and know that soon the branches will be
bare, reaching their unadorned arms out to the
blues… This is of course my favourite look of all. In
this daily “life in slow motion” journey to the office
through my ever-changing trees, I am reminded
of the basics and at their purest form. My more
creative colleagues often state, “less is more” and
in this biotic instance, I see it to be true.
