C Coy says farewell to Cdt CSM James
Lowe
By SI A. Malarky
Cadets, cadet force adult volunteers and
reservists from all over Scotland made the
long journey to Westminster on 30 January to
brief MPs and Peers on their activities as part
of the wider defence family. The tea was
kindly hosted by Mike Crockart MP, Liberal
Democrat Member for Edinburgh West. One of
the guests in attendance was Cdt CSM James
Lowe.
Almost 50 members of the two Houses of
Parliament attended the reception where they
mingled happily with Cadets and members of
the reserve forces from Scotland. Michael
Moore MP, Secretary of State for Scotland
and Liberal Democrat Member for
Berwickshire, Roxburgh and Selkirk spoke of
the importance of both the cadet movement
and the reserve forces to Scotland and the
rest of the UK, and reiterated the
Government’s thanks and support for all that
they do for the country.
Cdt CSM Lowe finished off his career with the
9
Army Cadet Force earlier in spring after
attending his final weekend camp with C
Company.
As a Cadet, he took on every challenge
presented to him head on which included a trip
to Africa late last year, becoming the Lord
Lieutenants Cadet & achieving his 4 star &
SCIC. This also aided him in his journey to
becoming the Cadet Sergeant Major for the
Company and pass on his skills and expertise
to the next generation of Cadets. Cdt CSM
Lowe continues his studies in Coaching Sport
with Development at Edinburgh’s Telford
College.
