Another important point regarding the translation methods is that, in Portuguese, the meaning of the expression “to be in the shallow” or even to be “far from it” stands for “to be ignored in a conversation”, which would be odd, and even the literal meaning would be strange in a song. So if Paula Fernandes did a translation to the song (which implies losing some of the poetry it has and focusing on the literality), it would be risible and somewhat incoherent. If “Juntos” were to be a version then it would be very difficult to translate these remaining English words like Shallow, considering that in Portuguese this word carries a much different connotation. In any case, it could have been better written and or composed. Just by the attempt, we give 3/10 as a consolation prize.
