The Dentist

FEATURE
Music Bubble team catch up with UFC pro fighter Darren ' The Dentist ' Stewart ahead of his London fight with a familiar face.
You graduated to UFC last year and had your debut in Brazil, how was it? Great, not just Brazil but the whole UFC experience.
You won that fight but the result was over turned to a no contest, how do you feel about that? Fuming! I ' ve never experienced anything like it in my life.
How did you get into the sport? A training partner, who I did Taekwondo with, recommended me.
So, when is your next fight? March at The London O2 arena. I cant wait.
What should we expect from you on the night? Business as usual.
Do you have a favourite strike / submission to use in a fight? Hmm, my favourite strike would have to be mysuperman punch.
Who is your biggest inspiration? My biggest inspiration is my mother Veronica Stewart.
Which team are you training with in preparation for your next bout? The team I have always been with and will l continue to be with, The MMA Clinic.
Do you like to stand with your opponents or take them to the ground? Both really, but a touch more taking them
20 down and beating them up. What does it mean( for you) to be a fighter? A lot. It ' s something I ' ve been good at from the age of 13 and to now showcase my skills to the world means a lot.
What separates you from every other fighter in your division? My speed, movement and power for my size.
If you could have one dream fight with anyone, who would it be? Whoever holds the belt in the division I will have to go into next, which is middleweight. That will be Micheal Bisping, but it ' s not a case of having a dream fight with him, I ' m just chasing that gold.
How much weight have you cut from walking around weight to fight weight and how has that affected your strength and stamina? None! I was already at the right weight as it ' s not a diet to me, it ' s a lifestyle. Always stay on weight because you never know when you might get that call up.
What training are you doing to prepare for your next fight? Has this changed at all after Brazil? Training hasn ' t changed just brought in a few more things like a conditioning coach.
What is your diet day to day? Chicken breast, tuna and rice. They are the main ingredients of my nutrition.
Do you use dietary supplements? Hell no!
Do you allo yourself a ' treat ' at all, if so what? I put the treats in my day to day food diary, so I don ' t go crazy.
Where do you see yourself this time next year? Higher than I am now. I ' m aiming to be on the main card of a show instead of prelims.
