Christine's (mctine) Story

I actually didn’t start watching The Glee Project at the beginning. I had heard of it, and I knew what it was, but I really couldn’t watch it, or at least the first 7 or 8 episodes, when they aired. Actually, I didn’t watch any of them when they aired. (We don’t actually have cable…)

I think I started watching TGP online on a Friday, but I remember watching the casting episode and thinking to myself, who, at the time had just gotten out of the hospital (that is a kind of long story), “Holy Crap, these people are talented.” (I’m pretty sure that is reaction most people have). From the start, I really couldn’t pick a favorite. They were all too amazing. I mean, yes, in some ways I related to some more than others, but honestly, anyone who has the audacity and the heart to be filmed for national television deserves a round of applause.

And now, going in alphabetical order, a list of reasons why ALL of the contenders are awesome:

Abraham Lim – Can I just say that he is FIERCE! And sassy. And his Someone Like You is amazing? Anyone who has red hair and a firey personality deserves to be in the spotlight. And not winning TGP didn’t stop him in the least. He is really amazing with his fans. Organizing All of the Lights was brilliant (and shout out to those who were there).

Ali Stroker – I know this is said like all the time, but Ali is a ball of light. She is beautiful, and no matter what happens to her, she never lets anything get in the way of her dreams. She is going to be big, and I really see her staring on Broadway one day.

Aylin Bayramoglu – Anyone who can talk about tampons in front of Ryan Murphy deserves to be applauded. But that didn’t stop Aylin from bringing it all the way. She is beautiful and fearless, and knows exactly what she wants. Not to mention she is Muslim (which she said in every episode), but she also never let that stop her from kicking people’s butts.

Blake Jenner – Coming out of the car in Edge of Glory, I honestly though that Blake either was first to go or made it to the finale (haha I am so smart right?). But then he turned out to be this amazing actor who can turn into Darth Blake at the drop of a hat and well, we all know what happened from there.

Charlie Lubeck – I thought that Charlie would win. Honestly, after Ryan stopped him at his audition, I though Charlie would win. His version of Fix You is a very top played song on my iPod (I may be addicted to Coldplay anyway), but the way he treats his EP Shake the Dreamer, you can tell that he is going to be big, and that we won’t forget about Charlie, or about Scott Campbell.

Lily Mae Harrington – Lily is more than just confident in herself. She knows who she is, yes, but she also has that vulnerability that is open about. Even though she is bigger, she doesn’t let that define her, and she knows that she is beautiful just the way she is.
