A PROCESSING system named
WaveDynamics is at the heart of
two new Class-D ampli ers from
Belgian manufacturer Audac, who
claims that the DSP, in combination
with the ampli ers’ 2.5-inch LCD
display, offers ‘an unmatched user
experience with intuitive functions for
easy con guration’.
Named the SMA and SMQ
and designed for exibility, the
ampli ers are available in different
con gurations with two or four
channels and output options of
350W, 500W or 750W. Features
include low, high and band-pass
lters plus seven band EQ, both of
which have adjustable frequencies
and Q-factor. A delay function
and dynamic bass boost are also
onboard, both of which can be
customised via the password
and USB protected front-panel.
Loudspeaker protection is also
provided by an output power limiter.
Simplifying con guration, meanwhile,
is a library of loudspeaker presets
and full system con gurations.
The exible theme continues into
the I/O, where the input selection
matrix works in combination with
XLR and terminal block signal
connections. Outputs are performed
using speaker and terminal block
connections, while system integration
is facilitated with an RS-232 port.
Elsewhere, the manufacturer has
also completed its Xeno range of
loudspeakers for BGM applications
with the addition of the Vexo8, which
can be mounted either horizontally or
vertically.
The enclosure comprises an 8-inch
mid/low range driver and 1-inch
HF compression driver tted with
a 100-degrees x 80-degrees horn
to deliver more power than other
models in the Xeno range but in the
same compact cabinet. It is intended
for installation in bars and nightclubs
and Audac recommends extending
its performance with the addition of
a subwoofer. An optional 35mm pole
adapter is also available for mobile
applications.
