PRODUCTS Meyer Sound introduces DAS Audio reaches out to ‘most powerful cinema small applications with Event surround loudspeaker’ DESCRIBED BY the US manufacturer as its ‘most powerful cinema surround loudspeaker’, Meyer Sound has debuted the new self-powered HMS-15. Becoming the biggest in its series, the speaker has been designed to cater to studio’s transitioning into multi-channel immersive sound formats. Designed for high-power, longerthrow applications in cinema Meyer Sound’s HMS-15 cinema surround loudspeaker exhibition auditoriums as well as in postproduction and screening rooms, the surround speaker is capable of operating in both 5.1 and 7.1 formats. Inside the cabinet, the HMS-15 houses a 15-inch long-excursion LF driver and a three-inch diaphragm HF compression driver coupled to an 80x 50-degree (H x V) horn. It also has an inbuilt two-channel ampli er with active crossover, driver protection, phase correction and frequency response. This gives it a resultant frequency range of 50Hz to 18kHz and a maximum peak SPL of 133dB (at one metre). The speaker can be mounted on walls or ceilings at xed or adjustable angles with an optional wall-mount or U-bracket. It is available in two models, a 48V DC version powered by the manufacturer’s MPS-488HP external power supply, and the HMS-15AC for installations where AC power is already available.
