PRODUCTS The L-Pad family of mixers The TT 22-A II b ENTERING INTO the mixer market for the rst time in its 65-year history, RCF has unveiled its new L-Pad range of audio mixers. The establishment of the RCF Mixer Division represents an important strategic move for company. The series has debuted with a comprehensive selection of nine models ranging from a 6-channel version up to 24 channels. Each model comes in two variants, with or without effects, with effects models featuring a built-in DSP chip, and selected con gurations also bene tting from a built-in compressor. All models house a three-band EQ for mono channels and a two-band EQ for stereo channels. Additionally, the 12C and 12CX models receive 60mm faders, as opposed to the 45mm ones present in the other variants. Away from the new mixers, the SMALLER STAGES are soon to be equipped with the AXM 12A active monitor from Dynacord, boasting a 33-degree tilt angle to facilitate its use as a PA, a ll, a delay or for fold-back. At the same time the manufacturer has announced the latest addition to its range of small format powered mixers in the shape of the PM 502. Described as ‘reconciling high SPL with compact dimensions and light weight’, the 15kg AXM 12A The AXM 12A from Dynacord RCF’s L-Pad mixer series The Evox 5 column speaker utilises a coaxial 12-inch/1.75inch design delivering 90-degrees coverage. On board is a 520W Class-D ampli er (360W Lo + 160W Hi), while the birch plywood cabinet’s maximum SPL is rated at 128dB. Other features include integrated DSP with IIR/ FIR settings, a digital three-band EQ (with parametric mids), an adjustable low cut and a sweepable feedback lter. Three audio inputs are available comprising two mic/line ins on XLR/jack combo sockets (with an individual phantom power option) and a stereo RCA. A backlit LCD and push-button encoder form the recessed user interface, allowing access to ve presets plus ve programmable memories. While carry-handles are built into the cabinet, the AXM 12A can also be pole-mounted for PA applications, while an integrated delay function for distances up to 100m in 0.1m increments is 48 PRO AUDIO ASIA July–August 2014 Italian manufacturer has also showcased its new portable column speaker range, Evox. Currently consisting of the Evox 5 and Evox 8 models, the manufacturer’s stated goal with the pole-mounted satellite and subwoofer series is to ‘exceed the performance of all competitive products in this class.’ Both models utilise RCF transducers – the Evox 5 with ve 2-inch full-range drivers and a 10inch sub, and the Evox 8 with eight 2-inch drivers and a 12-inch sub. The system is driven via a Class-D ampli er with built-in DSP controlled crossover, achieving a horizontal directivity coverage of 120-degrees. The Powersub312 and Sub112 included. When combined with a powered subwoofer, the enclosure can also be integrated into a threeway system. Away from the stage and back towards front of house, the PM 502 has become the latest addition to Dynacord’s range of powered mixers, promising ‘a new innovative design’. Based on the Powermate, it includes ve mic/line and three stereo inputs plus a master section boasting three master outputs, each of which has an individual 7-band EQ. Onboard are two 450W (RMS/4-ohm) rated Class-D ampli ers, plus processing features The vertical array design has been purpose-shaped to deliver the same listening experience to the rst row as it does over long throw distances, with the manufacturer stating that its optimised pro le avoids the high frequency beaming typical of straight arrays. Like other column array systems, everything can be broken down into a single transportation bag and is reportedly light enough to be moved by a single person. In further news, new additions have been made to RCF’s TT series in an attempt to provide a reduced cost version of the TT22-A and TT25-A loudspeakers, but with upgraded performance and a reduction in weight. The overhaul has meant a redesign of almost every component was necessary, right down to the carrying handles. The new TT22-A II is a two-way active system featuring a 12-inch neodymium woofer and 86mm voice coil in a bass re ex con guration, mated to a 1.5-inch tweeter housing a 75mm neodymium voice coil and a 90- x 40-degrees constant directivity horn. The larger TT25-A II replaces the 12-inch woofer with 15-inch variant coupled to a 90- x 60-degrees constant directivity horn. Ampli cation for both models comes courtesy of a 1,100W switching power supply module, and I/Os for both consist of XLR, RDNet, and PowerCon. To complement the two updated models, a TT25-CXA monitor wedge has been released featuring a beam width providing 60-degrees conical coverage, and uniform frequency response across the beam width. The cabinet houses a 15-inch neodymium cone driver and 64mm diaphragm compression driver along with phase-correlated control electronics. Ampli cation and connection speci cations match those of the related models above. Finally, after undertaking a critical review of its Art 7 Series, the manufacturer has also made upgrades to the agship Art 725-A, leading to the Art 745-A. It promises ‘far superior performance’ as a result of its much larger 4-inch voice coil. The speaker can deliver an SPL of 131dB from its 15-inch woofer and 2-inch neodymium HF driver, with 90- x 60-degrees coverage. Ampli cation is via the same 1,400W peak (700W RMS) amp driving the rest of the series. Shipping: Now Web: www.rcf.it such as compressor/limiter and talk-over. A USB Type A interface is also incorporated, supporting 48kHz recording and playback, while a second USB slot at the front serves an onboard MP3/WAV player.
