How do Americans do it?
In the United States and the United Kingdom, men and women are perceived as equal but the government does much less in encouraging women to enter the labor force. American women spend less time in the workforce than the international average. British women contribute more time in the labor force than the international average, largely due to the amount of part time jobs available to women.
A prominent cultural perspective of the United States communicates that children are vulnerable and proper care comes only from their mother. This leads to around the clock mothering and discourages women from entering into the labor force.
