the recent success of the Northern Texas PGA by protecting our most valuable assets and creating additional streams of revenue and growing the game. The Section’s core goals remain constant: promote the game and support its growth by providing new programs as well as enhancing existing programs and services for Section golf professionals, the golf industry and the general public. The Northern Texas PGA needs your continued support of the Section’s many programs, specifically participating in major championships, hosting Junior Tour events and assisting with fundraising initiatives. Together we can accomplish a great deal for the benefit of our peers and the next generation of golfers. During the planning retreat, the Section Board identified the Northern Texas PGA strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats while identifying long-range strategic objectives, including the following: Staff identified the following strategic objectives for 2013 and beyond for discussion as follows: 1. Remain well connected to Section Members at-large – “It’s all about the Member,” Joe Black 2. Protect the Section’s assets and maintain continued financial stability 3. Develop task force to evaluate the potential for a green grass / non green grass home site for the Northern Texas PGA 4. Extend Deloitte contract past June 2013 and develop ways to enhance program / increase funding 5. Evaluate all the Section’s existing programs and services as they relate to Golf 2.0 6. Build on success of 2012 Ewing Charity Classic and enhance event and shootout 7. Develop enhanced education with less “commercialism” at annual meeting / educational seminar 8. Upgrade presentation at section major championships 9. Promote Section and Member good works to media, specifically PGA Magazine and PGA.com 10. Submit nomination(s) for National Awards if applicable i.e. Herb Graffis award 11. Enhance fundraising opportunities, including Kids Play FORE Kids 12. Grow Junior Golf Foundation membership 13. Create additional Golf 2.0 growth of the game initiatives for a more diverse audience continuing to target girls and Team Golf 14. Enhance our sponsor program to better maintain and grow relationships 15. Diversify sponsorship base to include more nontraditional golf related partners 16. Evaluate next steps for Texas State Open and potential sponsors for the event following partnership with The Lakes at Castle Hills 17. Enhance social networking strategy specifically for the Junior Golf Foundation 18. Continue to enhance websites for Section and Foundation 19. Develop enhanced staff transition plans 6
