Tournament Committee Report Ryan Kossick highlighted the tournament committee report: Major Championships – Participation has increased by 16.8 percent and purses were up by 2.6 percent in the eleven events conducted that were also played last year. The increase was primarily due to a 152 player (24%) increase in the Texas State Open. For the nine Section major championships conducted for PGA Members and Apprentices, participation has increased 15.1 percent and purses increased by 7.9 percent. PGA TOUR – Participation is up 4.3 percent and net income has increased by 6.0 percent in the three events conducted year to date; The Section has netted $47,031 from PGA TOUR activity year to date. Sponsor Update – Ryan Kossick provided the Board with a sponsor update: o On target to have a record year in sponsorship as 11 new sponsors have been added and we have a solid retention of existing sponsors. o Significant contracts expiring in 2012 include: Club Car; WinStar; Yamaha Golf Cars and KBS. o Staff is working on enhancing the Match Play Championship and is close to adding a new co-title sponsor to the event. o Many of the new non-golf related sponsors have a paid team into the Ewing Charity Classic, so the sponsorships are benefiting the Section and Foundation. Championship Schedule Dates: Mark Harrison outlined the proposed changes to the 2013 schedule of events. Senior Division Update – Mark Harrison gave an update on the new Senior Division, YTD in the first three events 58 players have competed from the forward tees. PGA Members like Mike Hicks, Bobby Lane, Gary Dennis, Keith Davidson, Bob Elliott, Roy Pace, Scott Robbins and many more like members are playing again from the new forward set of tees. The payout for the Senior Divison was adjusted from 33% to 50% in an effort to pay even more members. Mark Harrison recommended that the Board consider an additional forward set of tees in 2013 for Members ages 65 and older. Junior Golf Foundation Report Justin Bailey and Ryan Kossick updated the Board on various Junior Golf Foundation activities, including the following: o Junior Tour Membership – Membership has increased by 10.9 percent (2012 – 2,963 vs. 2011 – 2,671). o Ewing Automotive Summer Series – Participation incre
