Speaking of Justin Leonard, this year marks the 17th consecutive year he has served as the Foundation’s Spokesperson.
Justin’s friendship and commitment to our mission sets a high standard for all of us to attempt to emulate.
The Northern Texas PGA enjoyed a successful seventh year with Ewing Automotive replacing the Westcott Foundation’s
ten years as the title sponsor of the NTPGA Summer Junior Tour. The NTPGA is excited about the enhancements
fostered by Mr. Ewing’s vision to further build our brand awareness and contribute to valuable programming in the local
marketplace.
The Junior Tour features 3,107 junior golfers and 273 tournaments. The Junior Tour is the largest and most extensive
program of its kind in the country. The Junior Tour features multiple levels of events structured to accommodate the age
and skill level of the participants. The Junior Tour is specially structured to welcome the diversity of children ages 7-18,
through Team Golf, Prep, Medalist and All American Tour programs, in addition, the NTPGA Summer Camp program is
helping to ensure the pipeline of junior golfers into these programs:
Team Golf – Team Golf is for Junior Tour members ages 7-14 with beginning level golf experience and offers an
introduction to tournament play through 9-hole team stroke play competition. Team Golf serves as a fun, social, less
stressful approach to tournament golf, and provides junior golfers with knowledge and skills that set the stage for a
lifetime of golf enjoyment.
Prep Level – The Prep level is for Junior Tour members ages 7-18 who have achieved beginning level golf and
tournament experience, and offers competitive 9-hole individual stroke play tournaments. The Prep level provides
additional opportunities for skill development and tournament experience. Prep level tournaments are conducted
throughout the year in the Metro Area.
Medalist Level – The Metro Medalist level is for Junior Tour members ages 11-18 with tournament experience and a
wide range of playing ability. Tournaments offer 18-hole individual stroke play competition and are conducted throughout
the year in the DFW metroplex.
The East and West Texas Medalist Levels are for Junior Tour members ages 7-18 with tournament experience and a wide
range of playing ability. Players ages 7-10 in east and west Texas compete in 9-hole individual stroke play competitions,
much like the Prep level in the Metro Area. Players ages 11-18 compete in 18-hole individual stroke play competitions.
These events are conducted throughout the year in East and West Texas.
All American Tours - The All American Tour is for Junior Tour members ages 11-18 with a higher level of tournament
experience and ability. Tournaments are 36-hole stroke play competitions conducted over two days, with 18-holes played
each day. All American Tour tournaments are conducted throughout the year in all areas of north Texas.
The All American Tour is designed for improving players who have not yet reached an elite playing level. The Legends
Junior Tour is designed for better players and those on an elite playing level.
