73. In addition to crowning a champion, the Warrior Open continued its tradition of honoring all those who serve and sacrifice to defend our freedom. Golf Club of Dallas “24-Hour Teach-A-Thon”: Philip Bleakney, PGA Director of Golf at The Golf Club of Dallas, hosted the 10th Annual Golf Club of Dallas “24-Hour Teach-A-Thon” on Saturday, November 16 and Sunday, November 17. Over 40 junior golfers received 30 minute complimentary lessons during the two days and $15,000.00 was raised for the Northern Texas PGA Junior Golf Foundation. The Northern Texas PGA would like to thank Philip, his team and the event sponsors for their continued support, and ten years of generosity. Over the course of a decade, the event has raised an amazing $251,000.00 for the Northern Texas PGA Junior Golf Foundation. Ewing Charity Classic: The 7th Annual Ewing Charity Classic was conducted on Monday, November 26 at Brook Hollow Golf Club in Dallas and raised $172,250.00 for the Northern Texas PGA Junior Golf Foundation. The Ewing Charity Classic has a tradition of recognizing the career accomplishments of golf’s greatest ambassadors and players who have roots in Texas. This year the event honored Carl Westcott, Chairman of Westcott LLC and founder of the Westcott Pro-Am. The Ewing Charity Classic was once the Westcott Pro-Am, and while the Westcott Pro-Am, the event raised over $2 million to help benefit more than 150,000 kids in northern Texas through outreach programs.
