Call For Abstracts
Deadline: March 1, 2005
The NSCA is soliciting abstracts for the
Applied Research sessions at next year’s
National Conference in Las Vegas, NV,
July 6 – 9, 2005. The NSCA Research
Committee will evaluate all submitted
abstracts. Accepted submissions may be
presented as a 15-minute oral presentation or as a poster presentation. Please do
not submit an abstract if your attendance
at the conference is questionable.
Speci?cations
All submissions will be accepted only at
www.nsca-lift.org/abstracts. The title
plus the body of abstracts submitted can
contain no more than 2500 characters,
including spaces.
It is vital that abstracts be complete in
order to allow for full evaluation. Abstracts
that do not contain complete information
(including results) will not be accepted.
Special consideration will be given to
data that might help the ?eld practitioner
better manage the training of athletes.
All studies should comply with the ACSM
position on the use of human subjects and
informed consent. Data should not have
already been published or presented
elsewhere.
A primary author may submit more two
abstracts but only one should be for oral
presentation format (or both may be considered for poster presentation format).
The primary author must be the individual
who will be presenting the data at the
National Conference.

Submit all abstracts at www.nsca-lift.org/
abstracts. Submissions must contain all of
the following information:
• Title
• Author(s)
• Purpose
• Methods
Bulletin 25.6
• Results
• Conclusion
• Practical Applications
The following additional information
should also be included (please follow
instructions in online form):
• Primary author name and contact
information
• Primary author’s or sponsoring
member’s NSCA member ID#
• Desired presentation format
• Abstract category
• Whether you are applying for the
Student Research Award (include
advisor information)

NSCA Philosophy
Although the Research Committee feels
that generating knowledge is a function of
the “research process,” it is wise to promote
the exchange of ideas, philosophies, and
technologies that can be used by the ?eld
practitioner and that help the training of
athletes.
