Throwing the Blob Ball between people or rolling it and watching it drop and people
scrambling on the floor.
Getting people to turn to a partner and pointing at a Blob picture to explain how they
are feeling.
Emotion includes motion. When we are overwhelmed by feelings we say that we are
moved. Our feelings are sometimes awakened by movement. It might even require other
people’s movement to achieve this. A gentle affirming pat on the shoulder or a handshake can make people feel more welcome than we realise. On one occasion I was away
from home at a festival and spent two days without anyone else touching me. I felt so
alone until I bumped into a friend who greeted me with a hug – and I suddenly belonged. Touch is a special gift.
The following pages are the images. Each section is grouped together alphabetically.
They are not designed to be used in any order – you need to decide what the needs of
your group are. Alongside each image are either a lot of words, to provide you with a
few examples of how to structure a meeting, or just a few starter questions. The space
underneath is to allow you time to think and jot down notes of how you imagine using
the sheet.
If you want to see the Blobs in action, talk to someone who has seen the impact which
they facilitate or invite Pip or Ian to come and lead a training session for your team
