Sciences was invited to be a featured
speaker at UNCG Gerontology
research network “Lunch & Learn”
Thursday February 6, 2014. The
presentation was entitled “Health Risks
that Double Disability for Older
Americans with Diabetes: Results from a National
Longitudinal Study”. The presentation was based on the
PSID by Sarah and Jim Laditka. In attendance were about
25 faculty, students, and community members, and went
well.

January 31,2014. Her topic of
discussion was “How Do the
Characteristics and Concentration of
SNAP Approved Stores Affect
Community Health”. This research
describes the availability and characteristics of SNAP
approved stores in Charlotte, NC, how these factors differ
across neighborhoods, and the implications for community
health.
