Change Image Size – When enabled, the print size of the image may be adjusted using the drop-down box below. By also enabling Resample image to new pixel width and height, the image data will be physically modified to fit the requirements set. Also note that the options in the drop-down list change when enabling image resampling.
When image resampling has also been enabled, you may choose a pixel width and enable fixed proportions. Hence, you may also change proportion settings below. By choosing to leave the proportions unchanged, Color Factory will lock the pixel width while using a floating pixel height to retain the image proportions. By setting a pixel width and enabling Fixed proportions in the top drop-down list, the Fixed proportions settings below let you choose between 1) leaving the proportions unchanged, in which case the pixel height will be adjusted to retain image proportions, 2) fixed proportions where the canvas is expanded( you must then set a fixed pixel height and choose a canvas color) and 3) fixed proportions while cropping the image, in which case you may set the image pixel height and the image alignment on the canvas.
When setting a maximum file size when resampling, select a value larger than the largest output image that is reasonable to create in your system.
Setting a fixed crop frame
Where: Channel | Image Size | Fixed Crop tab
Sometimes it may be desirable to crop images, for instance to remove a surrounding frame or a text block. On the Fixed Crop tab you may enable such cropping by defining a percentage of the pixel width / height to remove, or you may set an absolute measure by defining the actual number of pixels to remove. If you don’ t want to remove image data, you can choose to Store as soft crop data only, in which case Color Factory will only apply a soft-crop frame to the image that can be verified in e. g. FotoStation.
Mirroring and rotating images
Where: Channel | Image Size | Mirror and Rotation tab
The Mirror and Rotation tab may be used to flip images vertically or horizontally, and you may set the default direction to rotate incoming images. You may even enter the rotational angle manually by clicking in the text field and entering a value( for instance 22,5 for 22,5 degrees) Note that the values are counter clockwise, meaning that in order to rotate an image 90 degrees clockwise you should enter 270 in the value field.
