A text block can be added to the image, thus enlarging the image area. You may put a logo within the text block, either to the left of the text or below it. In the text extraction field you may either enter the text as it should occur or you may use metadata field codes to extract text from a specific field within the image. Click Select Font to choose a typeface and size.
By ticking Always put text block on the longest side, Color Factory will automatically place the text block on the longest side of the image, whether vertical or horizontal.
ASCII conversion – If the images have been captioned on a Macintosh, you may have to convert the character set to display correct characters in the text block. This is not an issue if the file contains XMP metadata only, but it may be a concern when dealing with files containing IPTC metadata. Normally there is no need to change this setting although it may be desirable in some cases.
Drawing a frame around the images
Where: Channel | Pixel Edit | Frame tab
By setting your preferences on the Frame tab, you may add a border around the image. Depending on whether the output image is in Grayscale, RGB or CMYK, you may set the preferred color of the frame by entering values in the corresponding fields. The border thickness can be set in an absolute pixel value, or in points with a given resolution of 72 points per inch. Note that the frame will be added within the image border; the canvas will not be expanded to accommodate the frame unless you specifically choose the Expand canvas to fit frame option.
Clipping Path Settings
Where: Channel | Pixel Edit | Clipping Path tab
Here you may define preferences for input images with a clipping path.
Stroke clipping path – When enabled, anything outside the clipping path will be discarded and replaced with a canvas. The canvas color can be set by clicking on Set background color. With GIF and PNG24 files you have the option to make the background transparent by choosing that option.
Use first working path if clipping path is missing – If the input image has no defined clipping path, the first working path will be promoted to clipping path.
