Saving a copy of the original input file
If you would like to save a copy of the original, unprocessed input file, you may do so by enabling Copy
input file to specified folder and choosing a path.
Preserving Macintosh Resources
To preserve any Macintosh Resource in the input file after processing, select this option. Note that
preview information and metadata in the Mac resource may not be valid after processing. Hence, you
should use this option only if you need the resource for special purposes, for example if you know it
contains proprietary data that you need to retain. Otherwise, leave this option turned off.
Virus scanning options
Where: Channel | Input Options | Virus scanning tab
To scan files in the input folder for the MS04-028 virus, enable the option on this page. This virus
exploited a security vulnerability in earlier versions of Microsoft Office. Although recent Microsoft
applications have addressed and fixed this issue, you may still want to enable scanning for and removal of
the virus to safeguard earlier installations of Microsoft Office.
You can choose to try and repair the file or move it directly to the Infected folder within the Error
folder.
Input options for slave channels
Where: Channel | Input Options | Miscellaneous (Slave Channel) tab
When a channel is configured to use the input folder of another channel (set up on the Channel Settings
tab) it takes on the role as that channel’s slave channel. Color Factory will then process the input files in
the master channel first, and then see if any slave channels exist. A master channel can have several slave
channels.
Though a slave channel can be configured basically any way you like, your input options are somewhat
limited, as the above screenshot shows.
