Setting advanced input options

Waiting for input file to stop growing
If a program such as an FTP client is used to transfer files to an input folder of one of Color Factory’s
channels, it may be desirable to check whether the entire file has been transferred before the processing
starts. By ticking Wait until file stops growing, you may set an interval after which, if the file has not
expanded since last checking, Color Factory will process the file.
Extracting Zip archives and processing the files in it
The Extract files from ZIP archives option makes Color Factory unpack zip files and process the
files contained in it. By also enabling Extract to subfolder with same name as the zip archive, a
subfolder named after the zip file will be created in the folder where the zip resides and the files will be
expanded into that folder. The folder structure in the zip file will be mirrored in the resulting tree of
files within this folder. Note then unpacking a zip file, the files in it will overwrite any existing file with
the same name. If unpacking up zip files is not enabled, Color Factory will move any zip archives to the
UNKNOWN folder within the output folder.
Including subfolders within the input folder
To include subfolders within the input folder, select the Include Subfolders check-box. By doing so,
Color Factory will scan all subfolders within the input folder and process the files found. If you wish to
preserve the folder structure in the output folder after processing, tick Mirror Subfolder Structure.
Ticking Remove Empty Folders will remove empty subfolders within the input folder after processing.
Preserving file date and time after processing
Normally, when processing files, Color Factory will add the time and date of processing to the files
stored in the output folder. By ticking Copy File Date from Input File to Output File, the file date
and time of the input files will be preserved. This may be useful for instance if you would only like to add
a predefined text template to all the files in your archive without changing the creation date of the files.
