Chapter 6:

Defining a user account

Where: Color Factory | User Account tab
As Color Factory runs as a Windows System Service, its processes have to run under a user account that has access to both local and network folders as defined in Color Factory. In other words, you should make sure that the account used has sufficient privileges. We recommend using an account that is a member of the local Administrator group. Using a domain administrator account is not recommended. The startup wizard will ask you to enter a valid user account during the initial steps of the startup wizard the first time the administration program is run – however, if you wish to change the account used, you may do so by clicking Color Factory in the administration console and choosing the User Account tab. Note that you may not create a user account from this dialog – you may only enter a valid user account, either local or in the domain. If the user account is local, simply leave the Domain field blank.
