Spicy Meatballs in Tomato Sauce

canned
diced
tomatoes
or
1
egg
4
cups
freshly
diced
tomatoes Ground
pepper

Preheat
oven
to
180!
Celsius/350!
Fahrenheit.
To
make
the
meatballs
–
in
a
bowl
mix
the
garlic,
cinnamon,
turmeric,
chilli
powder,
egg,
pepper
and
minced
meat
unBl
well
combined.
Neatly
shape
the
meat
mixture
into
12
balls.
Place
meatballs
on
an
oven
tray
and
bake
in
the
oven
for
20-‐30
minutes
or
unBl
cooked.
To
make
the
tomato
sauce
–
fry
onion,
garlic
and
chilli
in
a
pan
on
medium
heat
unBl
they
begin
to
sofen
and
lightly
brown.
Add
cinnamon,
cumin
and
cloves
and
conBnue
to
cook
for
a
few
minutes
to
release
flavours.
Add
the
tomatoes
and
simmer
for
10
minutes.
When
meatballs
are
cooked
add
them
to
the
tomato
sauce.
Simmer
on
low
heat
for
a
further
15
minutes.
Serve
with
fresh
coriander.
