Henry VIII
Henry VIII was the king of England for 86 years. He was a man who
married 6 wives, 2 of them were divorced, other 2 of them were
beheaded, another 1 died, and the last one survived. His
marriages affect England especially the church.
With his first wife, he had 3 sons and 3 daughters, but all of
them died except 1 daughter. He wanted to remarry, but the
Catholic Church didn´t let him. Later he separated the church
from England, thank to this separation, Henry VIII was known for
that role. Henry VIII though it was a spell from the devil because
he couldn’t have kids, so when he had his first son he hide it all
his life because the kid was sick. The problem was that he had
problems while having kids; it was pretty difficult for him to get pregnant someone. But
how does this affect the government? In that century England was under the influenced
of the Martin Luther Ideas of the Protestantism, so when Henry VIII wanted to divorce
her first wife he used Martin Luther ideas and changed the whole religion in England to
Protestantism that was called Anglicanism, which was a big changed for the world
because it was the first time church didn’t have power.
The made England protestant, because he wanted divorce with his first wife. He keeps
marring more until he stayed with the sixth wife Katherine
Parr. Soon he died and Edward VI came to throne.
When Edward died there was a big fight
between the two sisters, because one was in favor of
the Anglicanism and the other one wanted to change
what his father did. The fight was between queen
Elizabeth and The Roman Catholic Mary also known as
bloody Mary. The Elizabethan Religious Settlement later
evolved into today's Church of England. Queen Elizabeth Is
also know for his virginity she was the last queen of the
Tudor dynasty.
