Rama Mundhada & Pooja Khanorkar I Year SAHAVIRYAM KARVAAVAHAI Sahaviryam karvaavahai– carries a simple but deep meaning, i.e. ‘TOGETHER WE ACHIEVE MORE’. Do you remember the story our grandparents use to narrate? Let us remind you one of them. There was a farmer who wanted his sons to learn the importance of unity and gave them a bundle of sticks. Each one was told to break but no one succeeded. When they were given single sticks, they did it. These things do not belong to stories, but are taken from practical life experiences. We are living in 21st century, which is known to us as the ‘era of globalization’. Let us zoom in and think about an individual. We were asked to write for the magazine as individuals, but we chose to write together, because “WE” achieve more. We all have worked in group with our friends and colleagues. Do we observe its output? Is it fruitful every time? One of the group mates puts forth his idea and then each one in the group goes on polishing it and the result that comes out is BEST. Thus working in same age group helps us in exchanging ideas and enhancing one’s own work. Ragging, sounds terrific? Mostly reminds us of seniors. But this so called horrifying act is just to have an interaction between seniors and freshers. The question arises (mostly to freshers) why this interaction? The answer is that seniors are the guides who escort you to the journey of your career. Since we belong to the architecture field, they are the only kind of teachers with whom we can share our silliest of doubts, and share our problems, whether academic or personal. Thus here seniors are also a part of our togetherness. Have you ever slept in a class when a lecture is underway? Sounds funny, but this really happens due to lack of interaction between students and teachers. Once the session becomes interactive, teaching of teachers become effective, and makes the bond stronger between teachers and students. In a mathematical way: Teachers = the experienced ones; Students = the curious and fresh minds; Thus experience + curiosity = innovation. Thus the unity of teachers and students always proves to be fruitful and sets an example in the respective field. As we being the students of architecture, we know that architecture is a field where art and technology go hand in hand to create wonders. An architect is not only responsible of the greatness of a structure; it’s the compilation of the hard work of architect, labor, civil engineer, craftsmen, and interior designers who make a structure great. This sums up: AUM SAHA NAVAVATU, SAHA NAU BHUNAKTU, SAHA VEERYAM KARVAAVAHAI, TEJASVI NAA VADHITA MASTU, MAA VID VISHAA VA HAI, AUM SHANTIH, SHANTIH, SHANTIH 12
