In Memoriam—We Remember
The following alumni and friends of St. Francis College have recently passed away. We pray for the repose of their souls. Requiescant in Pacem.
Emmet J. Agoglia, Esq. ’52
St. Francis College alumnus and former member of the Board of Trustees Emmet J. Agoglia passed away on July 24,
2018, at the age of 87. After attending St. Francis, he served in the U.S. Army in Europe as a reporter for Stars and
Stripes. Following his military service, he earned a law degree at St. John’s University School of Law—working as an
attorney at Riley & Riley before establishing his own practice in 1965. His firm, Agoglia, Holland & Agoglia, PC, focused
on a wide variety of personal injury matters and he was a fierce advocate for his clients. The firm continues under the
leadership of his son, E. Kevin Agoglia ’82. Agoglia’s commitment to St. Francis was ongoing throughout his life, and he
established the Emmet J. and Caroll Agoglia Scholarship. He also engaged in many volunteer and charitable endeavors,
reflective of his belief in the powers of faith, family, and education. Agoglia is survived by his wife of 61 years, Carroll,
seven children and 14 grandchildren. ●
