CROSS COUNTRY August - December www . LaVerngibson . com Terre Haute is known as Cross Country Town USA . The LaVern Gibson Championship Course on the East side of Terre Haute holds many races in the fall . There have been National Collegiate Championships , IHSAA Championships , Nike Cross Country Regionals and many invitationals held at the course . 2024 Schedule of events is listed on page 71 .

PARKE COUNTY COVERED BRIDGE FESTIVAL October 11-20 The Parke County Covered Bridge Festival is Indiana ’ s largest festival . This 10-day festival always starts on the 2nd Friday in October . The Parke County Covered Bridge Festival showcases the county ’ s 31 historic covered bridges , each with its own unique past and rustic charm and setting . Each of the nine festival locations - Rockville , Billie Creek Village , Bloomingdale , Mansfield , Bridgeton , Mecca , Tanier , Montezuma , and Rosedale - feature their own unique specialty as well as plenty of authentic arts and crafts , fantastic food , and beautiful fall foliage .
