Hawthorn Park: A Peaceful Retreat Hawthorn Park ' s hilly trails wind through forested areas and open fields. The park is a local favorite for fitness walkers and runners. Hawthorn Park is a hot spot for bird lovers, from wood ducks to swans. Visit early or stay late for stunning sunrises or sunsets over the adjacent J. I. Case Wetland property. Burns Lake, 18.3 acres, has a boat launch and fishing docking around the lake ' s north side. The lake has bluegill, redear sunfish, largemouth bass, channel catfish, and crappie. The park ' s campground, nestled amongst the trees, is ideal for an overnight adventure under the stars.

Fairbanks Park: Riverside Relaxation Fairbanks Park overlooks the tranquil Wabash River. During warmer months, the park is a mecca for community events ranging from the Banks of the Wabash Festival to the Terre Haute Balloon Festival. A trail lines the Wabash River on the east and takes pedestrians over it into the Wabashiki Wetlands 6-mile loop trail system.
