Open year round, this is a project of the Vigo County Parks and Recreation Department and the Griffin Family endorsed by the Indiana’ s governor’ s office as an official Indiana Bicentennial Legacy project. It is named after Dale Griffin, a U. S. Army soldier killed in Afghanistan in October 2009. The design and development of the Griffin Bike Park is guided by these core values. The public is invited to check out the stars and planets, when it is clear, from the Indiana State University Hook Observatory. To reach the observatory, enter the front door of the Science Building and climb the stairs to the roof. The Science Building is just east of Hulman Memorial Student Union. Open from 8 to 10 p. m. Tuesday and Friday( weather permitting). Free admission.

Educational conferences, conventions, concerts, stage shows, sporting events, banquets and dances are only a few reasons for visiting Hulman Center. The arena is home court for the Indiana State University Sycamores basketball teams. Broadway plays, concerts and nationally known performers are regularly featured. Seating capacity in the arena ranges from 2,600 to 11,000 with the event dictating the configuration.
