5 {the final draw: death or salvation} POR: CAMILO GONZÁLEZ - ARAB LEAGUE Third and final day of the highly strained debate of the Arab League; it was a complicated situation; the delegates were worried in behalf of the lack of solutions presented. Soon, desperate solutions were taken into account, a few delegations such as Saudi Arabia, Tunisia and United Arab Emirates considered that a military intervention from the United States was the only solution as no other country had the ability to put a quick end to the Syrian crisis, however, the delegations of Somalia and Sudan mentioned that it was the responsibility of the Syrian government and that instead of military intervention , the government had to be guided into victory. The discussion whether or not the United States should intervene or not continued for about 30 minutes until a world threatening situation happened in Egypt; The United States and Israel attacked the Arab league's headquarters in Cairo because several Arab countries were proven to be involved in a massive theft operation against the world bank located in Washington DC, these countries were Tunisia, Turkey, Iraq, Morocco and United Arab Emirates; not only millions of dollars were stolen but they were used in the acquisition of chemical weapons, the complaint was made by the BBC that also confirmed it was done by a hacker attack. Instantly, the room was filled with confusion, many of the delegates present demanded explanations from the countries involved, the delegation of Turkey stated that they were only taking back what once belonged to them because the United States entered the region several times to steal their oil; The delegation of Tunisia was convinced that a third world war was imminent and that they needed the money to get ready for the upcoming war; Iraq was so angered that they dared the United States to attack, reminding them that attacks like the one that took place in September 11, 2001 could happen again, Saudi Arabia, that was previously supporting American intervention, and seeing that their friends in Egypt were under attack, declared war right away, followed by Turkey, Kuwait, and soon, every other Arab country in the league. The delegation of Israel, that was also present as an observing nation, threatened every other delegation in the room, calling them thieves and stating that there was no way the Arab league would win the war. I would like to congratulate the “Arab league” committee in doing such a great job, and also, thanks for letting me be part of this experience, I enjoyed every bit of it.
