The SBP Swim team was hampered by multiple members being struck by colds and illness during the majority of the season. The team recorded wins against River Dale and Delbarton. As he completes his year as captain, Alex Melchor writes:
Being part of the swim team has been a real privilege for me. This year was even greater of an experience because I was asked to be the captain of the team. I took the offer and I made it the best of my ability to have a successful season. We had our ups and downs in the season especially when I got the flu. I still made sure my teammates were motivated to do their best at practice and in the meets. Being part of this team helped me see how guys improved throughout the season. The team is my family because even though we had a tough season, we still made each other feel like we were all winners. I had the privilege of going to Easterns this season and swim against competitive schools. It was an experience I will never forget! I will forever be a Benedict’ s swimmer and I wish the best for next year’ s team. I want to thank my coach, Cassidy, for spending his time and effort on the team, and especially on me because he pushed me over my limit to get better.
