We asked Michelle Henderson from the North East STEM Foundation – a charity that links with employers and goes into schools and colleges( such as Redcar and Cleveland College, pictured) to encourage more young people to take STEM – for some advice …
Which STEM subjects should you study? STEM isn’ t one subject but a collection of pathways that allow you to explore different interests and strengths. Key subjects include:
• Science: biology, chemistry, physics, environmental science.
• Technology: computing, ICT, coding, Artificial Intelligence, robotics.
• Engineering: mechanical, electrical, civil, chemical, aerospace, software engineering.
• Mathematics: core maths, further maths, statistics, applied maths.
