Lowri ’ s hard work at Sembcorp meant that he completed his apprenticeship early , and is now a Level One outside operator and working towards a role inside the control room to achieve his Level 2 qualification .

Electrical apprentice
Throughout his electrical apprenticeship , Joseph has worked across a variety of different assets at Sembcorp ’ s Wilton International site and all this experience has honed a keen eye for safety .
“ Safety on site is the number one priority ,” says Joseph . “ My proactive approach to safety earned me a Safety Award , and I ’ m also part of Sembcorp ’ s Safety-COM Champions programme , which brings volunteers from across the business together to increase safety awareness and understanding ”.
With an aspiration to become a chartered accountant , Alfie is undertaking a finance apprenticeship with Sembcorp while also studying for his Level 2 Association of Accounting Technicians ( AAT ) Certificate at Middlesbrough College .
“ I ’ ve developed so many skills during my apprenticeship , and I ’ m learning a lot about both accountancy and our industry through working with a team of experienced people ,” says Alfie .
“ Being an apprentice means you earn while gaining qualifications , taking on new responsibilities and establishing yourself as part of the business .”
Grace Spencer Business support apprentice
Grace recently completed a City and Guilds Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship , collaborating with Sembcorp colleagues across different departments .
“ I ’ ve had the opportunity to develop important project management skills , working with senior members of staff to implement a new radio management process ,” explains Grace .
“ Thanks to this process , we made budget efficiencies in the business , and I was commended by the UK operations director for my efforts .
“ That ’ s been a real highlight of my apprenticeship and has inspired me to work towards becoming an executive assistant or office manager at Sembcorp .”
