festive makeup tips with Tees Life readers
‘Tis almost the season to be jolly…gorgeous!
So I’m thrilled to share some of my best tips
and techniques for creating an effortlessly
glamorous look for all those fun-filled and
fabulous nights out ahead.
With more than 20 years of experience as
a makeup artist, I’m bursting with advice to
help you look and feel fabulous.
I regularly work with women who want to
update their look and learn some new skills.
The best place to start? Your complexion.
Looking after your skin in winter is
essential if you want to glow. I recommend
using power-house products to boost
your usual skin care routine…a serum, an
exfoliator and a mask.
These products will give you targeted,
optimum results over a short period of time,
sometimes instantly! My faves are Lancôme
Visionnaire serum, Nip and Fab Glycolic Fix
Scrub and Charlotte Tilbury Goddess Skin
Clay Mask.
I create amazingly radiant complexions by
mixing a little liquid illuminator – such as
Iconic London Illuminator – into foundation
before buffing on with a brush.
You can then use a light reflecting
concealer to cover dark circles under the
eyes and redness on the lids, blending out
over cheekbones with your fingertips to
highlight this area too and dab more of the

illuminator fluid on top for extra glamour
and shine.
Warm around the hairline, under jawline
and cheekbones with a natural, matt bronzer
for a healthy glow.
A versatile and easy-to-apply product
for the eyes is Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to
Mesmerise in shade Marie Antionette. I
absolutely swear by its smooth definition, for
any eye colour and shape. Lightly pat onto
lids using your ring finger, blend up into
your sockets and under bottom lashes too.
Lashings of mascara and a flirty set of strip
lashes will make your eyes really pop!
Don’t be afraid of adding more colour to
your lips. There’s a shade of plum, warm red
or burgundy to suit everyone.
If you’re unsure about going bolder, dab
the colour onto your finger first and pat
onto lips. Or go for full definition, using a
liner, push slightly over your natural lipline,
then fill in with lipstick from the bullet. My
personal go-to shade this season is Hourglass
Confession lipstick in shade I Want.
