GRADUATE BETH
JOINS MILL VOLVO
TEAM TO FOCUS ON
SMALL AND MEDIUM
SIZED BUSINESSES
M
arketing graduate Beth Ward has
joined Mill Volvo’s Teesside team
to help promote the company’s
low-cost fixed-price offering to
Teesside SMEs.
The 23-year-old was one of 12 students
who were the first to complete Volvo UK’s
pilot ‘new to car sales’ programme.
The three-month course focused on
specific areas of the automotive industry
and incorporated both classroom and
practical sessions, culminating with a
nationally-recognised qualification from the
Independent Motoring Institute (IMI).
Beth’s latest qualification comes after she
left Northumbria University last summer with
a first class honours degree in business with
marketing.
She’s now taken up her new role as Mill
Volvo’s SME business specialist.
“I want to develop the local business
relationships we have, particularly in the
Teesside area,” said Beth.
“I saw this as a great career opportunity.
The course itself not only gave me a general
insight into the automotive industry, it was

also a good opportunity to meet and speak to
people from across the dealer network.
“We looked at each department briefly,
and looked at the things we’d deal with on a
daily basis in more depth.
“It will hopefully act as a springboard for
my career with Mill Volvo, and I’m really
excited about developing the company’s
SME networks.
“Mill Volvo’s main business centre as
a whole has been really successful for a
good 20 years now. Working nationally with
the likes of the NHS and local authorities,
the company now wants to take all that
experience down to a local level.”
Mill Volvo operations director Jeff Tabb is
excited about the new appointment.
“We’re investing more money in young
people because we recognise there’s a need
in the market locally for this,” he said.
“What we’ve found is that some
businesses employ people to look after their
fleet of cars. We can act as that advisor to
businesses of all sizes and offer advice on
tax allowances, life costs of cars, frequency
of change etc.
“And Beth is now the go-to point for small
and medium sized businesses looking to hire
a car or a fleet.”
Mill Volvo, which announced £500,000
investment plans for its Stockton showroom
earlier this year, can supply Volvo cars from
as little as £162 on the road - to businesses
from one to 25 cars as well as to private
customers.
