John
Lambourne-
Richardson and
Lorna Hobson,
Hampton by
Hilton hotel
John Lambourne-Richardson has been
appointed general manager at Stockton’s
new Hampton by Hilton hotel.
Bringing nearly four decades of experience
with him, John began his career in Bath and
has worked across the country at venues
ranging from country house hotels to airport
and city centre accommodation.
He joins Hampton by Hilton from his
previous role as general manager at the
Holiday Inn Express Folkestone, near the
Channel Tunnel.
Meanwhile, Lorna Hobson has been
appointed as sales manager. Originally from
Yarm, Lorna brings a wealth of experience
from working at independent hotels and a
large events firm.
The 56-acre, £300m scheme is a
partnership between Muse Developments,
the Homes and Communities Agency and
Stockton Council and forms part of the
mixed-use Northshore regeneration scheme,
incorporating new offices, homes and leisure
facilities near the town centre.
George Harrison,
Middlesbrough
FC
A local journalism
graduate is
putting his skills
into practice in an
exciting new role in professional football.
George Harrison graduated from Teesside
University in July 2018, but before he had
even completed his final assignments, he
had already secured a role at Middlesbrough
Football Club. Born and raised in
Middlesbrough, George now works as an
archivist based at the Riverside Stadium.
In his new job, George collates items and
information considered of value and inputs
them into a system to be archived. The items
can include Middlesbrough Football Club
memorabilia, such as shirts, trophies, letters
and programmes.
Jake West,
Redcar and
Cleveland
Council
A Tees council
has smashed a
Government target by taking on its 100th
apprentice – with more set to be taken on.
Jake West, 17, is learning to be an
electrician with Redcar and Cleveland Council
and his appointment means the council has
exceeded the Government target introduced
last year that the authority should have 74
apprentices.
There are now opportunities for more
young people who wish to become
apprentices at the local authority.

Tees-based
branding and
marketing agency
The Creative
Alchemist has welcomed a new full-time
recruit to strengthen its team.
The agency, which is based in Boho One,
Middlesbrough, has appointed Steven
Askham as marketing manager.
Steven started his career in the legal
sector but had a yearning to work in
marketing and gave up his full-time job to
attend Teesside University to study a BA
(Hons) in marketing, graduating with first
class honours.
Alastair MacColl, Square One Law
Alastair MacColl has joined Square One Law
to head up its new business development
team.
MacColl is founder-chairman of BE Group
and pro-chancellor of Teesside University.
Prior to establishing the BE Group, he
worked at a senior level in UK regional media
businesses.
Square One Law revealed earlier this
year its expansion to the Tees region, with
the opening of a new office on Stockton’s
riverside at Fusion Hive.
Kevin
Alderson,
Barker and
Stonehouse
Newly-
appointed
marketing
supremo Kevin Alderson has every intention
of becoming part of the furniture at Barker
and Stonehouse.
Kevin has joined the team at the Tees
success story to drive forward its push into
new ways of doing business in the digital
age.
As well as looking at multi-channel
marketing he will be responsible for
managing and developing Barker and
Stonehouse’s ecommerce activity – with a
key focus on delivering the best customer
experience online and in store.

welcomed new
blood to the team
as part of the
company’s push for growth in 2018.
Isaac Sharp, a recent graduate from
Teesside University, has joined the team as
a digital marketing executive in an effort to
increase the company’s marketing capacity.
Forrest Digital, based at Fusion Hive, is a
specialist in digital strategy, including SEO
and Google Ads, and in the last year has
helped numerous companies increase sales
throughout the UK and Europe.

Jessica
Morton has joined law firm Tilly Bailey and
Irvine’s commercial office at Wynyard
Jessica will join the now 10-strong private
client team, specialising in wills, trusts,
estate administration and inheritance tax
planning.
She’ll be based at the firm’s Wynyard
Office and further enhance the private client
offering to the firm’s business clients and in
particular focus on tax planning for high net
worth individuals.

has appointed
Lesley Graham as
its new campus principal.
Describing the college as “a hidden gem”,
Lesley is originally from Liverpool and has
worked at further education colleges across
the Midlands and South-East
Working alongside the chief executive
of the wider Stockton Riverside College
Group, Phil Cook, Lesley is looking forward
to helping to open up further opportunities to
potential students in Stockton.
