From one idea to 13 years supporting Teesside businesses

Built on relationships that last

Thirteen years in business is something worth celebrating. Not just as a milestone, but as a reflection of the relationships, trust and consistent support built along the way. Circle Cloud was founded on the belief that the same technology enjoyed by large enterprises should be just as accessible to smaller businesses.

At the time, co-founders Michael Povey and Tom Roberton were working within the IT department of a regional PLC, delivering early cloud technologies such as Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Azure. These tools were transforming how large organisations operated, yet they were rarely positioned for smaller businesses.
“ We could see the impact this technology was having,” said Michael.“ But it was almost exclusively aimed at larger businesses. We realised there was an opportunity to bring those same benefits to SMEs, giving them access to the tools, flexibility and efficiencies that were usually out of reach.”
That realisation marked the beginning of Circle Cloud.
Drawing on their experience, Michael and Tom made the decision to step away and build a business focused on helping SMEs adopt and benefit from these technologies in a way that was practical, accessible and aligned with how they actually work.
