Ever since the ICI days, CF Fertilisers UK’ s home at the Billingham Complex has had a natural recruitment pull. But in today’ s competitive employment market, with the expectations and requirements of candidates and employees evolving, CF recognises that what you put into your Employee Value Proposition( EVP)- and how you genuinely live it out- is critical to realising the culture and community you aspire to build, develop and retain.

That’ s why CF is having a real people moment under the direction of Jo Clapham, senior HR business partner. An empathetic and experienced member of the Site Leadership Team and well-known internally for a chat over a brew, she’ s shaping the way that CF listens to, responds and invests in its people. Fundamental to this is how the UK business takes insight from its Glint engagement and Pulse surveys to inform HR strategic goals linked to its People & Culture agenda.
Fresh from recently rolling out various new benefits and hosting its employee Annual Awards, here Jo reveals how she and her team are realising their goals to ensure CF remains the best possible place to work.

We take a long-term view: culture is everything We’ re committed to investing in our people, building both our culture and offering to meet their needs. Inclusion & Engagement is considered across the candidate and employee journey but we’ re not standing still. We’ re working more closely with charities we support financially through our Inclusion Resource Group to help guide us in becoming better educated and more empowered to support others.
